To Be

A personal exploration of healing and becoming “Real”, drawing from ‘The Velveteen Rabbit’, and my own mental health journey. The photographs, taken by me at John Derian Drygoods, are layered with a slowed version of Zombie Girl by Adrianne Lenker, an audiobook excerpt from The Velveteen Rabbit, and a short prose piece written and recited by me.

Created in response to the prompt “Dreams,” the work reflects a conscious, waking dream—an intentional vision for my self and my future.
