Bhasha is the Hindi word for ‘Languages’. This installation comes from a further exploration of my typography investigation from the previous artwork (Sanskrit Jigsaw Puzzle), breaking down the alphabet into lines and curves, which I transformed into physical forms. The pieces can be used to form Hindi letters and short words, depicting its interconnectedness in 3D form, an evolution from the preceding 2D rendition. The textures on the surfaces are a combination of relief and carving, with references to the language.
